Pip keeps us company at the office. She has an affinity with travel, since she's born in Spain (oct.12). Along with her two brothers, then 8 weeks old, she was found in a box. Now we care for her and she is a very happy dog!

Luxury holiday Antarctica
A visit to the ‘blue continent’; a long cherished dream that is fulfilled...
This continent appeals to the imagination: ice and snow as far as the eye can see, the quiet and the diverse fauna with sea lions, orca’s, whales, seals, walrus, many species of birds such as albatross, fulmars and of course the penguins.
On 14 December 1911 R. Amundsen was the first to reach the South Pole;
‘Glistening white, dazzling blue, raven black – in the sunlight the land looks like a fairytale. Rows of points and peaks full of cracks, wilder than any country on earth, it lies there, never beheld, never treaded.’
There are several possibilities for expedition cruises to Antarctica. We only work with ‘small scale’ ships. We select on the professionalism of the crew/ ship owning company (IAATO) and in particular the expertise of the guides.
Short expedition (1)
To be introduced to the untouched wilderness of Antarctica, an expedition cruise from Ushuaia (Argentina) is the most usual way. Expeditions of 11 and 12 days are possible. On the way there and on the way back you need 2 days to cross the Drake Passage, the water strait between Terra del Fuego and the Antarctic Peninsula. In the Antarctic waters you will land with a zodiac to discover the flora and fauna under escort of very experienced guides. The guides also regularly give interesting lectures aboard.
Long expedition (2)
Longer expeditions are 18-19 days long, and have added visits to the Falklands and South Georgia. This dream trip is an absolute must for bird lovers. The Falklands have a very diverse flora and fauna and the first sight of the landscape of South Georgia makes many hearts skip a beat. 200.000 king penguins live there! There are also a lot of albatross and large colonies of sea elephants. South Georgia is also of historical importance; here you’ll find the grave of the famous English polar explorer E. Shackleton and many memories of the whaling industry.
Air Cruise (3)
Antarctica is without a doubt a dream destination for many! An Antarctica expedition usually takes a bit of time. Would you like to enjoy a magnificent expedition to Antarctica, but you don’t have that much time? Then the so-called Air Cruise is the perfect way of travelling for you. This way, you combine a flight and an expedition cruise. A short expedition from Ushuaia, Argentina, usually takes about 11 to 14 days. Because of the combination with a flight you can shorten an expedition like that to only 7 days. The same unforgettable experience in this stunning polar area in a shorter amount of time.
Other possibilities
Besides the boat trips there are a few more possibilities if you want to explore the Antarctic Peninsula. The local airline company Aerovia DAP has made it possible to make 1-2 day trips to King George Island. Here you’ll visit a number of research centres and you can get to know the exuberant fauna of Antarctica. For enthusiasts there is the possibility of flying in a helicopter. From the helicopter you have a breathtaking view of enormous glaciers and the Antarctic ice fields. The flights with DAP leave from the Chilean town of Punta Arenas. It’s also possible to combine a flight to Antarctica with a boat trip.
