The Mayan ruins of Copán
Copán is famous for its magnificent Mayan ruins, which were discovered in 1570 by Diego García de Palacio. This very important Maya site was not excavated until the 19th century. The ruined city was abandoned early in the 10th century. Today, this site is considered the Paris of the Maya in Central America, and Copán was added to Unesco's World Heritage list in 1980.

Bay Islands
The Bay Islands paradise is an archipelago made up of the islands of Roatán, Utila and Guanaja. The clear, clean turquoise waters of this area are home to more than 500 species of fish, 60 species of coral and five species of sea turtles; the reef also attracts one of the world's largest congregations of whale sharks. In short, the Bay Islands offer a spectacular underwater world and pristine white beaches.

Pico Bonito is home to cloud forests, dense jungle, rivers and an abundance of wildlife, including jaguars, armadillos, wild pigs, porcupines, river otters, white-faced monkeys and an array of tropical birds. Best travel time - for a unique journey in Honduras
Honduras is good to visit all year round. Being close to the equator, it is almost always warm and has only two seasons.
In brief:
- The dry season runs from November to April;
- The rainy season is from May to October, don't be deterred from travelling during the rainy season, however, as showers are usually limited to the afternoon only.
- The temperature fluctuates between 25 and 30 degrees all year round.
