The charming village of Cabo Polonio is a truly special place situated within Uruguay’s largest national park. The village is cut off from the outside world by a row of high dunes, meaning it can only be reached on foot, on horseback, by off-road vehicle or by boat. The area is home to just a handful of people and a number of large sea lion colonies.
