Iguazu Falls

Iguazu is best known for the impressive waterfalls on the border between Argentina and Brazil. No wonder, as with an average height of 80 metres, the Iguazu Falls are taller and, in terms of size, five times larger than Niagara Falls in North America. Surrounded by lush tropical rainforest, the water from the River Iguazu plunges down with tremendous force. In the evening, the red light of the setting sun casts a magical glow over the whole scene. It is not without reason that these waterfalls are called a wonder of the world, or indeed one of the most beautiful spectacles on earth. The falls can be visited from both Argentina and Brazil. The Iguazu Falls are so impressive that people often forget there is more to experience in this region beyond Iguazu itself. The Iguazu Falls are, in fact, part of the Mata Atlantica rainforest in the Misiones region.
