Patagonia

This National Park in Patagonia is considered one of the most special and pristine natural areas in the world. You can visit this park with a rental car, you can make multi-day trekkings and spend the night in so-called refugios, or tent. In addition, there are several unique accommodations in this national park from where you can undertake various activities.

On the Argentine side of Patagonia you will find the famous Perito Moreno glacier. This glacier is 60 meters thick and up to 5 kilometres long. You can see this immense mass of ice from far, but it becomes really impressive when you stand really close to this massif. 

An even more special way to experience the Perito Moreno glacier is by making an ice hike over this glacier. Accompanied by a guide and with climbing irons on your feet you will make an unforgettable hike.

The imaginative Tierra del Fuego and the rough coastline of southern Chile consists of beautiful fjords, bays and countless larger and smaller islands that you can admire from the water. A unique cruise is the Cruceros Ausralis that takes you from Ushuaia in Argentina to Punta Arenas in Chile, or vice versa.

Are you crazy about hikes? Then El Chaltén in Argentina is a great base. Short walks, multi-day trekkings or a nice short day hike, it's all possible. Highlights are the hikes to the foot of the Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre. 

They are about 85 centimetres in size and have a weight of 15 kilos. The king penguin is the second largest penguin species and it is a real privilege to see these animals up close. You can see them on the Chilean part of Tierra del Fuego in Parque Pinguïno Rey.

Besides the penguin you can also spot the Puma in Patagonia. It is not easy but in Chile you can participate in a special program of Ecocamp. Together with Diego Araya, one of the most famous Chilean nature photographers and an authority on the Puma, you can spot these special animals. This program of Ecocamp and Diego Araya is widely recognized as the best opportunity to spot these rare predators in the wild.

Patagonia is best known for its amazing nature that you can enjoy to the fullest during the day. In the evening you will be sitting comfortably in one of the unique accommodations and enjoy an excellent dinner. Famous dishes are lamb and king crab. The best place to eat this is in Usuhuaia where they are very proud of this dish.
