Barraco Lodge in Chile
The Barraco Lodge is situated on the shores of the picturesque Lake Tagua Tagua, in the northern part of Chilean Patagonia. This unique accommodation not only offers a cosy place where you’ll feel right at home, but the lodge also has everything you need to explore this beautiful region in an adventurous way.
An authentic Chilean accommodation
This Chilean lodge is situated on 60 hectares of land, next to Lake Tagua Tagua and the Puelo River. The lodge’s architecture is based on the typical Patagonian style and the building is constructed entirely from local materials. The Barraco Lodge has 7 rooms and can accommodate a total of 17 people. All rooms offer excellent views of the fascinating natural surroundings. The rooms are spread across three different houses, each with its own unique, distinctive Patagonian style.

As a guest at the Barraco Lodge, you have access to the sauna deck. Here you can enjoy the sauna and a hot tub whilst looking out over the lake down in the valley. You’ll also find various communal areas on the grounds, such as a small library with books on the nature and history of Patagonia and a small café with a pool table. Finally, the lodge offers home-cooked meals and local specialities, which you can enjoy by a cosy campfire whilst surrounded by nature.

The best place to explore Northern Patagonia
Hidden lakes, unspoilt rivers, waterfalls, mountains and the world’s oldest forests are just some of the natural highlights of Northern Patagonia. The Barraco Lodge is tucked away amidst all this natural beauty, making it the perfect spot for nature lovers. The lodge is a 2.5-hour drive from Puerto Montt, making it an ideal stopover if, for example, you’re planning to drive the Carretera Austral. If you’d rather not drive, there’s even the option of being flown to the lodge by helicopter for an additional fee.

Add a touch of adventure to your stay
The area around the lodge invites you to set off on an adventure. You can go on lovely walks or drive along scenic routes through the countryside. The diversity of the natural landscape means there are plenty of different activities to enjoy. How about horse riding, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding and fly fishing? Even skiing is an option.
