Round trips - Argentina and Chile

The many facets of a trip of Argentina and Chile

A trip of Argentina and Chile is a trip you’ll never forget. This is particularly due to the diversity of the countries and their breathtaking landscapes, but they have much more to offer. Fly to Buenos Aires and discover the pride of Argentina. Then round off your trip in Santiago and sample Chilean wines from the various wine regions around the capital. The countries are separated by the imposing Andes, which offer a wide variety of stunning landscapes and destinations on both sides. The border crossings are straightforward, making it easy to travel from one country to the other. At Sapa Pana Travel, we have visited Chile and Argentina on numerous occasions, both with and without a rental car. We know the most beautiful routes, unique places and ‘must-see’ destinations. We round off a unique trip of Argentina and Chile with special and comfortable accommodation in exceptional locations.

Patagonia

In the south, you’ll find unspoilt Patagonia, with the well-known Torres del Paine National Park on the Chilean side and the famous and impressive Perito Moreno Glacier on the Argentine side. The breathtaking routes along the Carretera Austral in southern Chile and Ruta 40 in Argentina allow you to experience this stunning region to the full in your own rental car.

The Lake District

But there are other ways to plan a trip of Chile and Argentina too. How about the Lake District, also known as Northern Patagonia? Here, you can enjoy delicious chocolate in Bariloche – the ‘Switzerland of South America’ – and drive the Seven Lakes Route. Travelling alternately by land and water, you’ll cross the border into the Chilean Lake District, taking in the breathtaking views along the way. Visit the town of Puerto Varas, with the Osorno volcano in the background, and continue on to the Chiloé archipelago, which consists of 30 islands. Here, the exuberant natural beauty goes hand in hand with a very friendly local population, fascinating mythology, exceptional cuisine and 150 remarkable churches and chapels.

The arid north

The north is also well worth a visit during your trip, which combines the Atacama Desert in Chile and the Argentine Puna. A spectacular region featuring one of the driest places on earth, vast salt flats, bizarre rock formations and unpaved roads that are only accessible by four-wheel-drive vehicles.
