Travelling across Central America from Panama City to Mexico City

In 2021, we drove this spectacular route through eight Central American countries. From the sun-drenched streets of Panama City to the bustling neighbourhoods of Mexico City.

This exclusive and adventurous journey takes you through a landscape of volcanoes, surrounded by dense jungle. We drove along winding coastal roads, past picturesque bays and along deserted beaches.

Here we discovered the past and present of the fascinating cities along the route, from the modernity of Panama City to the colonial gems of Antigua in Guatemala and Granada in Nicaragua. These cities were founded in the first half of the sixteenth century. With their colourful stucco houses and cobbled streets, they still exude the charm and atmosphere of that era. Later visits to Mayan and Aztec cities take us even further back in time. Quite a contrast, and truly special.

To sum up, in four and a half weeks we drove nearly 7,000 kilometres through incredibly diverse and breathtaking landscapes. Our overnight stays were arranged in the most special locations, offering every comfort and the very best of Central American cuisine. Throughout the trip, we travelled in our own car, assisted by our experienced Dutch, German, English and Spanish-speaking guides and a knowledgeable technical team. An unforgettable journey!

Includes:

Shipping the car by container;
Intercontinental return flight, economy class;
Accommodation in good, comfortable hotels. In some less touristy areas, we stay in good but simple hotels. To make up for this, we offer something extra in other areas!;
The travel days include half-board (breakfast and dinner) and the free days (11 days) are on a bed and breakfast basis;
