The pristine nature of Panama
Not only has Panama a lot to offer on the islands and on the coast, also the inland is breathtakingly beautiful and ideal for active travellers. The country has several national parks where you can walk and enjoy incredible views. For example, visit the largest rainforest reserve in Central America, Darién. The area forms the natural border between Panama and Colombia and is so impenetrable that the Pan-American highway is abruptly interrupted here. And as small as the country is, so remarkable is its diversity of landscapes. For example, you combine the beautiful rainforest near Darién in the same round trip with high peaks in the interior of the province of Chiriquí. The most famous place here is Boquete, from where you can undertake adventurous activities such as trekking, rock climbing, canopy and horseback riding. Moreover, Boquete lies at the foot of the almost 3500 metres high volcano Barú. If you climb this volcano on a beautiful day, you will see both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.
