Lakes in Argentina
Crystal clear rivers and deep blue lakes
Snowy mountain peaks, deep blue lakes, crystal clear rivers and vast dense forests are some of the ingredients that make the Argentine Lake District a great destination!
For the real nature lover
The lake district stretches from Argentina to Chile. It is the Andean mountain range with its high snowy peaks that marks the natural border between the two countries. San Carlos de Bariloche, in short; Bariloche, is the most touristic city in the lake district and is the gateway to an impressive area for the real nature lover. Here you will find beautiful nature in its purest state with many impressive rivers and lakes. In the lake district of Argentina you will find about 20 large lakes including the most famous lake Nahuel Huapi. All lakes are very rich in various types of fish. That’s’s why this region is very popular among fly fishermen. In addition to fly fishing, this water-rich region also offers the opportunity for other sporting activities, such as hiking / trekking, skiing, rafting, kayaking and climbing.
