Our 3-week trip of Colombia
The Govers family
Together with Petra from Sapa Pana Travel, we put together a truly wonderful family holiday. She listened carefully to what we wanted. That’s how we ended up with a 3-week trip of Colombia. The mix of cities and nature reserves was lovely, as was the variety of accommodation, from small boutique hotels to lodges and resorts. Everything was just right. Thanks to the guides who showed us round everywhere, we learnt a great deal about Colombia. But above all, we were struck by the lovely, friendly people in this colourful country.
“ From small boutique hotels to lodges and resorts, everything was just right ”
The transfers were Spanish-speaking only, but that wasn’t a problem for us. Everything went smoothly everywhere. The domestic flights were on time and went smoothly. The WhatsApp group we had was also very useful. If anything came up whilst we were there or if we had a question, we could let them know via the group. This was also the case during the earthquake, though fortunately we weren’t in the vicinity at the time.
Caño Cristales
Caño Cristales was stunning to see. A beautiful natural wonder. What a unique lodge, La Manigua. A real experience. This was a proper adventure, both for us and for the children. Really brilliant.
The coffee region
The coffee region with Salento and Filandia, followed by La Carbonera with its towering wax palms. Such peace and quiet!
We had a lovely guided trip at Finca El Plan. Such lovely, friendly people, who really took their time with us and explained everything from A to Z.
“ We’ve brought a suitcase full of memories and experiences back with us to the Netherlands ”
We went on cycling tours through Bogotá and Medellín. We also climbed the massive rock in Guatapé and then went on a boat trip across the lake. In Cartagena, we took part in a drumming workshop and a fun culinary cookery workshop. Tayrona was also a fantastic nature reserve.
All six of us had an unforgettable, adventurous trip and brought a suitcase full of memories and experiences back with us to the Netherlands.
If we ever go to Latin America again in the future, we’ll definitely be back!
