Peru: Anne-Lous and Philippe
Anne-Lous and Philippe
Everything was perfectly organised! We really enjoyed everything that diverse Peru had to offer us on this trip.
- Nature: desert, mountains, rainforest,
- The animals: penguins, sea lions, pelicans, flamingos, condors – and we even spotted a black bear whilst we were making our way through the wilderness to Machu Picchu!
- The colourful people: dressed in many different types of traditional costume,
- Food & drink: from guinea pigs, alpacas and coffee to avocados, chicha and pisco sours,
- Historical sights: Machu Picchu, the Nazca Lines, the mummified girl Juanita,
- And what an incredibly challenging alternative Inca Trail we walked! Right through the mountains, at over 4,900 metres and in the middle of nowhere. Here we pitched our camp for a blissful night’s sleep. Just like ‘our’ little donkeys...

The highlight of our trip was staying with our host family on Amantani. This experience taught us to appreciate the simplicity of life once again. Attached is a photo of our host family: Grandma, Nelly and Louis. Grandad had left early to work at the weaving workshop.
The three weeks were waaaay too short to take in aaaaaall those wonderful experiences to the full.
Best wishes,
Anne-Lous and Philippe
