A fantastic trip through Costa Rica
We were keen to go on a special trip with our children, aged 18 and 13. Having been to Asia last year, we were really looking forward to a whole new adventure on a different continent: Costa Rica!
We worked closely with our contact, Roos, to put together the ideal itinerary and choose the most suitable locations. Naturally, we were very curious to see whether everything would turn out as well as we’d planned together.
And that’s exactly how it was. What a fantastic and diverse country Costa Rica is!

From Tortuguero to the Caribbean atmosphere
After arriving in San José, where we went straight to bed, we were picked up early the next morning for our transfer by minibus and boat to Tortuguero. The drive and boat trip were an experience in themselves, and Tortuguero exceeded all our expectations!
After that, we collected our own car, which we used to continue the rest of our trip. The next stop was Puerto Viejo, with its wonderful Caribbean atmosphere. There, we had a great time in the high waves at Punta Uva and on a jungle excursion.
Rafting, ziplining and surfing
Next on the itinerary was La Fortuna and the Arenal volcano. We were picked up here to go rafting on the Sarapiquí River – it was spectacular! We also visited the hot springs to relax.
The next stop was the Monteverde cloud forest, where the highlight was ziplining over the treetops. To round off the trip, we spent a few days on the beach and surfing in Tamarindo on the Pacific coast.
All in all, a trip that fully met our expectations and which we look back on with great pleasure. Pura vida!
