Myrthe Linders
My interest in travel began a long time ago. As a child, I went on holiday with my family several times a year, always to a new destination. This started in Europe and later expanded to other continents. For as long as I can remember, I’ve said I’d work in tourism, but exactly how, I still had to find out. The choice of what to study was therefore an easy one: Tourism Management. When I joined Sapa Pana Travel for my work placement in 2018, my interest in Latin America grew.
After a few holidays in Central America, including the Netherlands Antilles, Mexico and Cuba, the time had finally come at the end of 2022: I spent a few months backpacking through South America, visiting Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia and Colombia. This was followed by several unforgettable trips to Peru, Costa Rica, Guatemala and Belize. My highlights have to be a 5-day hike through Peru’s rugged wilderness, ending at the Inca city of Machu Picchu, and a 3-day trip through Bolivia’s surreal landscapes, ending at the Uyuni Salt Flats. Although there are so many more unforgettable experiences I could mention, which I’d love to share with others.
My ideal trip would be to travel with my boyfriend through the varied landscapes of South America. Stopping off along the way for a hike to discover new places and ending the trip by the sea. For me, Latin America is the place where nature and culture come together perfectly.
