Day 2 | Santiago
On arrival at the airport, you will be welcomed by one of our local staff and taken to your hotel. You will have the chance to rest after your long flight. Santiago is a vibrant city with a mix of colonial and modern architecture. Visit the historic Plaza de Armas, the presidential palace La Moneda, or enjoy the panoramic views from Cerro San Cristóbal or the Gran Torre de Santiago – highly recommended, especially at sunset. In the afternoon, accompanied by a guide, you’ll be introduced to Chilean wine culture at Bocanáriz, a charming restaurant in the city centre. Accompanied by a sommelier, you’ll taste five carefully selected wines and learn about the different wine regions, grape varieties and the perfect food pairings. You’ll round off the evening with a delicious dinner.

Day 3 | Santiago
After breakfast, you’ll set off with your guide to the centre of Santiago, where you’ll visit the city’s most famous markets: Vega Central and Mercado Central. Naturally, you’ll have the chance to sample a variety of fruit and vegetables, some of which you may not have come across before. The guide will tell you more about the architecture of the Mercado Central, as well as the history of the building, which dates back to 1872. A chef will be waiting for you, and together you’ll choose the ingredients you’ll use to prepare a meal. Once all the ingredients have been bought, you’ll head to El Galeon restaurant where, under the chef’s guidance, you’ll prepare lunch. Afterwards, you’ll be taken back to your hotel.

Day 4 | Santiago – San Felipe
(approx. 110 km | 2-hour drive)
In the morning, you’ll collect your rental car and continue your journey to the next destination in the Aconcagua Valley, situated at the foot of Mount Aconcagua. Aconcagua, the highest mountain in South America, towers 6,956 metres above the valley, and its snow-capped peak supplies the valley with water. The Errázuriz vineyards are located in this region. You can visit the visitor centre and learn more about the history of Errázuriz. After your visit to the Errázuriz winery, you’ll drive on to your hotel. Termas de Jahuel is just under 40 km away, about a 45-minute drive from the Errázuriz vineyard. The hotel has an excellent spa featuring, amongst other things, a jacuzzi, sauna and steam rooms.
Overnight stay: Termas de Jahuel Hotel & Spa | full board
Day 5 | San Felipe – Matetic
(approx. 180 km | 2.5-hour drive)
Today you’ll continue your journey to the San Antonio Valley. The San Antonio Valley lies 100 km west of Santiago on the coast and south of the Casablanca Valley. It is a relatively new wine region, where enterprising growers and pioneering winemakers produce exceptionally fine, mainly white, wines.
Accommodation: Matetic Vineyards | half board
Day 6 | Matetic
You will be staying on the Matetic Bodega estate in a typical colonial country house with ten stylish rooms. The country house is over 100 years old and was designed by Max Cummins. During your stay, you can visit the vineyard, explore the estate and, of course, sample the delicious wines. The estate is situated in the pleasant Rosario Valley, home to a number of picturesque villages and, of course, various other wineries. We recommend visiting the nearby La Campana National Nature Reserve. This unique nature reserve lies over 30 kilometres north-east of Valparaíso and Viña del Mar. In La Campana, you’ll find various native tree species found almost nowhere else, such as the Chilean palm and the Roble. The climate is Mediterranean.
Accommodation: Matetic Vineyards | half-board
Day 7 | Matetic – Colchagua
(approx. 180 km | 3-hour drive)
Today you’ll leave Matetic and drive on to one of Chile’s best-known wine regions: the Colchagua Valley. This region is situated 180 km south of Santiago, in the southernmost part of the Rapel Valley. Here, superb, full-bodied Cabernet, Carmenère, Syrah and Malbec wines are produced – winners of international awards! Upon arrival at your accommodation, you’ll be met at Viña Montes for a trip of the vineyard. First, you’ll be taken on a walk. Your guide will tell you more about the production process and the grape varieties used for the different types of wine produced here. Of course, tasting various wines is an essential part of the experience. Enjoy the delicious dishes paired with complementary wines whilst looking out over the vineyards in the valley.
Accommodation: NOI Blend Colchagua | bed and breakfast
Day 8 | Colchagua
You have the day to spend as you wish. Enjoy the view with a lovely glass of wine or explore the beautiful surroundings of the Colchagua Valley in your rental car.

It’s the ideal place for those who want to enjoy the comfort and tranquillity of nature in a stunning, classic setting. The Pompeian-style house has 16 rooms, furnished in a charming blend of sleek modern design and beautiful antiques. The estate also boasts a neo-Gothic chapel, built in 1885 by the French architect Teodoro Burchard, which has recently been beautifully restored by the same team of restorers who worked on the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican.

After touring the Santa Rita estate, it’s time for the wine tasting.
