Day 3 | Buenos Aires

Today you will be taken on a culinary tour of Buenos Aires and introduced to different types of street food. Don't eat too much at breakfast, as you are guaranteed to get plenty to taste on this tour. In fact, most Argentines eat practically nothing in the morning, only to have a sumptuous lunch. Together with your guide, you will discover three favourite dishes of the Argentines. For instance, you will taste a delicious empanada. This is a delicious snack of chicken, meat or vegetarian ingredients wrapped in dough. You will be introduced to Choripán, a sandwich with spicy sausage and chimichurri. Almost every vendor has their own 'secret' recipe for the choripán. You will finish the tour with a delicious ice cream, choosing from around 200! different flavours. During the tour, the guide will also tell you more about Buenos Aires itself.

Casa de Uco

Casa de Uco is the result of a dream come true. A passion for design and architecture has been combined with a love and appreciation for fine wines. A beautiful hotel in the heart of the Uco Valley, not far from Mendoza. As soon as you step into the hotel, you immediately see that a lot of attention has been paid to the design and interior. The modern and sleek look fits perfectly within the peaceful landscape. In the afternoon in the wine bar with lounge, by the crackling fireplace, you can enjoy a good wine. In the evening, the chefs will prepare a delicious dinner for you. The ingredients used are mainly from the region. Day 9 | Salta - Purmamarca

(approx. 185 km | 3 hours drive)
After breakfast, drive towards the city of Jujuy, the northernmost city not far from the Bolivian border. Also, this place is the heart of the country's most indigenous region; most of the population is of Indian origin. Here you will taste the real authentic Andean atmosphere, characteristic of Peru, Bolivia and northern Chile. The end of this drive takes you into the Humahuaca Valley, a ravine that runs south from the border with Bolivia. The Rio Grande laid the foundation for this impressive landscape here tens of thousands of years ago. This valley is also home to the traditional village of Purmamarca.
Overnight stay: Manantial del Silencio | bed & breakfast

Day 10 | Purmamarca

Today is a free day on the programme. Purmamarca is at an altitude of 2200 metres at the foot of the 'Cerro de Siete Colores', the impressive mountain that has seven colours. The colours in the rocks are created by oxidation of the different minerals in the soil: manganese gives a purple colour, copper gives green, clay gives a yellow colour and depending on the iron content, there are various shades of red. It is a perfect place to acclimatise and enjoy the peace and quiet of the far north of Argentina.
Overnight stay: Manantial del Silencio | bed & breakfast

Day 11 | Purmamarca - Salta

(approx. 330 km | 6 hours drive)
From Purmamarca, drive back to Salta, but via a different route. Visit the Salinas Grande salt flats and make a stop in the town of San Antonio de los Cobres, taking you back to Salta through spectacular scenery with sweeping panoramas of vast salt flats and impressive mountain passes. Unlike at the beginning, you will now stay just outside Salta in a typical Finca. Enjoy the rest of the day in the accommodation's garden, go hiking or take a horse ride.
Overnight stay: Finca Valentina | bed & breakfast

Finca Valentina

Finca Valentina is an atmospheric 'finca' just outside Salta. Situated on the vine-clad foothills of the Andes, owners Valentina and Fabrizio came to Argentina from Italy (Milan) in 2006 to pursue their dream here. Not for nothing did they choose this beautiful location in the north-west of Argentina. Here you can hike, enjoy excellent horseback riding and quietly enjoy a traditional 'parilla' (roast meat) with a good glass of wine. Finca Valentina is a small-scale accommodation with only 5 rooms, including 2 suites, with an unheated swimming pool in the beautiful garden. Enjoy the majestic mountain views from here. Cooking classes are held regularly in the finca's cosy kitchen. Breakfast and dinner are served at the large wooden tables in the finca's living room. At breakfast, be sure to try the 'dangerously delicious' sponge cakes.

Day 12 | Salta - Cachi

(approx. 150 km | 3.5 hours drive)
This day you will drive from Salta to Cachi. On the way, you will see the green, fertile landscape turn into a mountainous area. You will pass through the Valle de Calchaqui, a beautiful drive past atmospheric towns and impressive panoramas.
Overnight stay: La Merced del Alto | bed & breakfast

Day 13 | Cachi - Cafayate

(approx 170 km | 4 hours drive)

Overnight stay: Patios de Cafayate | bed & breakfast

Day 14 | Cafayate

Today you have a free day in Cafayate. Cafayate is a small cosy town surrounded by beautiful mountains, vineyards and bodegas. There is a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Everything is within walking distance, even some bodegas where you can get a free tour and wine tasting.

Day 15 | Cafayate - Salta - Puerto Iguazu

Overnight stay: Gran Melia Iguazu | bed & breakfast

Day 16 | Puerto Iguazu

This day, your guide will take you to the Brazilian side of the falls. Foz do Iguaçu consists of about 275 waterfalls and these are best visited in the morning as that is when the light on the water is at its best. When the sun rises, rainbows appear on all sides. There is a path all the way down to the bottom of the thundering water mass with several beautiful vantage points.
Overnight stay: Gran Melia Iguazu | bed & breakfast

Day 17 | Puerto Iguazu

You will visit the Argentine side of the falls accompanied by a guide. Looking straight into the "Garganta del Diablo" (Devil's Throat) from above, you will immediately understand how this section got its name. This is where nature shows its true nature. Standing so close to this waterfall is a truly unique experience. You will have to pay for this with a wet suit, by the way, but nature, in the form of the sun, will make sure you get dry again!

Day 18 | Puerto Iguazu - Buenos Aires

You will be picked up at your hotel and transferred to the local airport for your return flight to Buenos Aires. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed and transferred to your hotel.
