Guatemala and Belize: Peter and Désirée

We began our trip in Antigua. It’s a real gem! Our hotel, El Meson de Maria, was right in the heart of the city centre, and from the roof terrace we had a magnificent view of the surrounding volcanoes. The next day, we were picked up to climb one of these volcanoes with a guide.
We then flew to Flores, where we stayed at the La Lancha resort, an hour’s drive from the airport. From there, we visited Tikal and Yaxha. Both were very impressive.
We then crossed the border into Belize, specifically the Cayo District. Our hotel, the Gaia Resort, had a little beach on the river. From there, we visited a cave and explored the Caracol archaeological site.
We ended our trip on the beach in Placencia , Belize. Here too, we stayed at a wonderful resort: the Naia Resort. Placencia is a really charming little town. From there, we also took a boat trip to see the coral reef, which left us thoroughly impressed.
We had a really lovely and, above all, carefree trip. The hotels and resorts were excellent, and the guides and drivers were always there on time. Definitely highly recommended!
